Bonjour, Ne pas fumer

Posted: February 1, 2017 by Octavia Osborne

If you haven’t (or already have) noticed, the title of this post is in French. I have some explaining to do. So bonjour is a very common French word meaning ‘Hello’ but I know most of you are wondering what does ‘Ne pas fumer’ mean? This may seem random to you but it means ‘No smoking’. If you skimmed through my pics first before reading, you will notice all have the sign in the background reading ‘No smoking’. I was going to edit it out but I was like ‘Naaahhhh, I will let it be apart of it lol’ and I started visualizing and wishing I had a fake fancy Paris like cig in my hand to show my bad girl side.? Like the girl who knows there are rules but breaks them anyway!??

Reason why I chose to write my title in French is because wearing a beret hat reminds people of Paris, France. I was inspired after seeing my sister Beyonce (& yes she is my sister, don’t hate, congratulate?) rock a beret in one of her instagram photos she posted a while back, I instantly wanted one! I was looking for a leather black one like hers but since red is my favorite color, I found a nice inexpensive beret for $10 on sale from Belk.

The concept of my vision was to have a Paris-feel with my beret being one of the highlights of my outfit. I originally was going to wear black and white stripes with my beret but I wanted to go out of the norm with my stripes. Never got to wear (& forgot I had) my long mustard top so I grabbed this green/black/white skirt I bought years ago, both from Forever 21. Grabbed a thin black belt to add shape since my shirt was so lengthy and loose-fitting. As soon as I was walking out the door for work, I felt a cold breeze across my legs which reminded me that I have mustard leg warmers. Adding my leg warmers turned into a great asset even though once I got to work, I noticed my mustards weren’t exactly the same but o-well, it was close enough!! ? Overall, I’m happy with how I put this together keeping my Paris theme on LOCK!?

Bonne journée!
Translation: (Have a nice day!)
